In case you never heard of ‘fat bombs’ they're not a new trend, they've been around for nearly a hundred years; however, until recently, they're making their way back to the mainstream. They're snack size portion (think of a ice cream scoop full or cupcake tin size) of everything sweet and delicious, which most diets tell you to avoid, these in fact are the recipes ingredients. Each recipe is specifically designed to help weight reduction, and keep cravings under control. For me, because they're desserts, which satisfied my sweet-tooth, it took away my thoughts of cheating with everyday sweets, like donuts, and candy bars.
Why the diet works is because the diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is very little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis.
Personally, I never thought that putting these ingredients together would actually promote weight loss, and stop my 3:00 p.m. craving/cheat time, but it did. I've been following these recipes for a short time, and have already lost 2 pounds. :-)
My favorite recipe is the 'Cream Cheese Clouds' - - - oh they're just as tasty as they sound. YUM!
